Does anyone know if there is a way to merge vendors in mass?

under Payables Vendor Specialist Role > Vendor Utilities, there is "Vendor Merge" utility that allows you to merge 2 vendors at a time. We have few hundred vendors that need to be merged. I wonder if anyone knows a way to do that kind merging in mass. Typically, any mass update, unless there is a dedicated utility, I would do in ISD, but I haven't been able to find that action in any vendor business class. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

It looks like VendorMerge is a business task and not an explicit action on the Vendor business class so you likely won't be able to invoke it via ISD. Also because it's a business task and implements abstract java, the underlying logic of the action doesn't reside in LPL, so it's difficult to see what exactly the business task is doing. 

You might be able to build an IPA flow to dynamically parse and merge pairs of vendors invoking the business task in a Landmark transaction.
