Websphere Services - Start automatically ??
Legacy Contributor
Greetings,
We rebuilt our Win 2008 64Bit servers back in February and we never created the Windows Services for WebSphere 7.0.0.29. We have been utilizing a batch file to run STARTMANAGER.BAT, STARTNODE.BAT and STARTSERVER.BAT when the Admin logs into the server upon a reboot.
I was able to create the services, but even when they are set to start automatically, they don't? Do they need to have a dependacy set?
I tried INFOR support, but they said I would need to get in touch with a service consultant.

What did you use for creating the services? What I needed to do was something similar to:
WASService -add server1 -serverName server1 -profilePath "D:Program FilesIBMWebSphereAppServerprofilesAppSrv01"

You can delete the services and try again....
wasservice -remove

Greetings Greg,
It appears that the Deployment manager is already a service that starts on it's own. So I tried to add the Node Agent and the Application Server using the following:
Node Agent:
WASService -add "Node Agent-AppSrv01" -servername nodeagent -profilePath E:IBMWebSphereprofilesAppSrv01 -logFile E:IBMWebSphereprofilesAppSrv01logs
odeagentstartServer.log -logRoot E:IBMWebSphereprofilesAppSrv01logs
odeagent -restart true
Application Server:
WASService -add "server1" -servername server1 -profilePath E:IBMWebSphereprofilesAppSrv01 -logFile E:IBMWebSphereprofilesAppSrv01logsserver1startServer.log -logRoot E:IBMWebSphereprofilesAppSrv01logsserver1 -restart true
