We are an on-premise customer and currently testing version 2024.12 on our test system. We especially take a look at the new Alealog settings that we have been eagerly awaiting.
Now there are two output options available:
- old (compatibility mode)
Writing every change into one table like in v11.
- New schema
Writing every change to three separated tables for each cube logged with roughly this information:
EPMOL_DEPMAPPS_CUBENAME_CC (Old value, new value, dimensions & element selection)
- EPMOL_DEPMAPPS_CUBENAME_HR (Dimensions used in the cube)
- EPMOL_DEPMAPPS_CUBENAME_OP (User, Change time)
In v11 we used the change log and build up a report for our key users to quickly check, which changes have happened in case of any wrong or missing figures. The table was also used to recover data entries if needed.
For v12 we can't use it until now. Therefore my questions:
- Will the "old" change log exist in the future and we can still base our report on that?
- Are there options for cloud users or is it only the new schema? (asking because of cloud-readyness preparation)
- Is there any standard report for cloud users based on the new schema? Or is this a customize topic?
