HR11 email - max size limitation

We are looking to store the employee's work email on the HR11 Work Tab but have discovered that the max size is 60 characters. We are apps 9.0.1.9. Couple questions...What are others doing to handle this size limitation? For those of you on version 10, was the size increased?

Email addresses are split into two parts per the RFCs that touch on defining email protocols. The local part is the section that is before the @ symbol and may be up to 64 characters in length. The domain is the part after the @ and may be up to 255 characters in length.

If you are tracking work email, and I may be presuming here, given the domain portion of your addresses is likely static, have you considered just storing the local portion and adding the domain programmatically when necessary.

On the flip side, what sort of addresses are you forced to use that 60 characters isn't enough space to enter them in?

60 characters (i.e.
012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890123456789) seems like it'd be more than enough for 90% of the addresses I've ever bumped into.
