Infor Shelf Labeling Product Feedback

Hi All,

Our organization currently uses BarTender for designing and managing shelf labeling in SCM. We're considering exploring Infor's shelf labeling product and would love to hear from anyone with experience using it.

The last time we used Infor's solution was many years ago, back when MSCM offered limited customization options. If you've used their latest product, could you share your thoughts and experiences with us?

Hi Stace. I'm sure you're mostly interested in peer feedback on the MSCM solutions, but wanted to share with you that we do have a few brief instructional videos posted to Knowledge Base (KB) article 2311528 regarding the new(ish) MSCM Label Customization Tool, which is essentially a plugin for MS Word where you can create custom label templates to your liking, and then upload them to MSCM Label Management.

The newer Label Customization Tool was released in 2023, with some more recent improvements to it as part of the 2024.10 release.

Hi Stace,

We are currently implementing FSM and testing the label customization functionality. We believe we should be able to replace our current custom MHC bin and par labels for the MSCM custom labels quite nicely. It would be nice if the security was more integrated with FSM, but that may be the case in the MSCM LPL version.

Unfortunately, I will still need to have a custom solution for my charge labels because the Charge Number field is not available for custom labels unless you use POU (which we do not). Some of the label field choices they give you do not make sense for labeling (e.g. - QOH & QTY On Order) as it could change regularly.

Overall, simple to use and create new labels so far.

Hi Dan,

Are you saying that without using POU, we wouldn't have access to the PatientChargeItem business class to apply fields to a label? It sounds like the available fields are predetermined, and some of them might not be useful.

How do you manage to get the necessary fields if they aren't available? What custom solution do you use?

Your statements in paragraph one are correct. I cannot add the charge number field from the item master to a custom label format and print my piggyback labels. It requires POU. We are having to create an interface to MHC Document Express for charge labels.
