LAUA - users that have access to a certain form?
asztudenyak
We still use LAUA for our security. I know the reporting is abysmal, but I am wondering if there is a shortcut that I am unaware of. I have a request to provide a list of users that have update rights to 3 forms. We have about 50 security classes. The only way I know to retreive this information is to run a Form Id Security report, save it to a file, and then manually search that file (611 pages!) for the form names to find the classes that have access, and then the people in those classes. This is an extremely tedious and time-consuming effort. Is there a better way?

Do you have access to query your GEN database? I have a SQL query I can send you. We run Oracle, but it could probably be ported to another platform.
I also use an open source tool called Pentaho Data Integration to pry some useful information out of LAUA.

Yes - we have SQL server. Would appreciate the query though - we have a DBA that has an Oracle background so he could help me if I needed it.

You can also dump the information from the Gen tables using the rngdbdump command. I'm not sure what tables are used, though.

Didn't know that query would be so popular. I have emailed it to all of you but I don't think there is any reason it can't be posted here too. If you find bugs/improvements we can refine together. I have been getting pretty good results with this against LAUA with 9.0.1.8 on Oracle.

I forgot to take out the part of the where clause near the very end that limits it to our specific security classes that I was interested in. You can take out the next to last line to run the query wide open or substitute the classes that you want to see.
