We are looking for what others have done to help streamline the pack version change process of PDBS packs and ordering. In our current state, we are on a fill/kill LUM environment for packs and run into problems with version changes and ensuring we receive the product. An example of this would be when we have vendor item ABC1, and orders go out for 15 of ABC1, but our distributor can only fill 10 and then kill 5. They have stock of a new version and alert our team; we update to ABC2 and then alert end users to resubmit a requisition to order the new product. Our operations teams have expressed concern about the delay that it takes to get the product and the time to resubmit a requisition, especially if the order is processed later in the day. How are others expediting the conversion process while keeping a clean PO, Receipt, and Invoice? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
