Inactive Items in Epic
Legacy Contributor
Hi,
We are in the process of implementing Epic's OpTime program and one of the questions we have been asked is how are we going to manage the inactivate of a Lawson number if it exists in Epic.
Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas on how to manage this? Not sure what the impact would be in regards to pref card builds, charging and documentation during cases. Any and all thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

We implemented OpTime a few years ago. We send a feed from Lawson to OpTime based on specific par carts in Lawson. Originally, when we inactivated items in Lawson, we would inactivate them on the par cart. This would send a flag to OpTime and inactivate the item in there. It kept Lawson and Epic in sync, but we found the department still had stock of the item. Once it was inactive in Epic, they couldn't select it for billing and it would disappear from the preference card.
Now we just delete the item off of the par cart which allows us to inactivate in Lawson and keep it active in Epic. When the department has no more stock on the shelf, they call the OpTime people to inactivate the item in OpTime. We are looking into some type of report or ?? to help manage these but it is working much better than before.
