CAD to ERP Links - Suggestions of products

I am looking at connecting Solidworks to Visual, through the use of a 3rd party application, allowing for BOM transfer/part creation all within our 3D Cad package. Can anyone suggest any products.

I have found a few, with the best being CADLink (by Qbuild), however I was shocked by the quote - which pretty much turned out to be as much per licence as our whole CAD package.

If anyone has already found something suitable providing features yet still being competently priced, please let me know.

We are looking for this same functinality. PLM is a product offered by Infor and is supposed to do this. I have not heard if there's been a successful go-live implementation as of yet. I'd be very interested to hear of any success stories with PLM. Anyone out there using PLM?

We are also in sticker shock on CADLink--but its functionality is without parallel. We looked extensively at PLM8 vs Solidworks EPDM and went with EPDM because it was a more efficient tool. I can put you in touch with our Engineering Manager if you want to discuss details.

Update: Found another product which seems very capable. It’s called Custom Tools (apparently written by software house that implemented the GUI for EPDM.)

Seems to do everything we require, but also is bundled with a lot of extra SolidWorks tools.
I am waiting on a written quote but I have verbally been told to expect around £1000 per seat for the premium package which includes a very smart Visual linkup.

I heard that Infor are developing their own solution to this, possibly thorough a PLM implementation. Anyone shed any light on this? Obviously don’t want to push company to buy a 3rd party app, if there is an integrated solution on the horizon (cost dependant obviously)
