Fail over for LSO and LBI
unknown
We are working on our Business Continuity. I've been looking for information on running LSO and LBI on virtual servers and/or Active-Active Clustering. Lawson support refered me to Professional Services. We are still in a discovery phase to see what our options are.
The demands of LBI are pretty high, so I'm doubtful that a virtual server is our answer for it. But, LSO seems to be a good candidate for that.
We're on LSO 10.0.4 and 10.1.10 LBI.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Derek

We run both Smart Office and LBI on virtual servers. We have about 8000 employees and have over 700 reports on our production instance of LBI. Reports are used throughout the business users for daily operations in HR, Materials and Finance as well as bursted reports throughout the hospital for finance data and materials.
When we switched LBI to VM, we actually decreased the number of cores from 4 (2 dual core CPU's) on the physical box to 2 on the VM with no noticeable performance issues. Running LBI 10.1.11.
For LSO, I installed from the beginning on VM. Now we have 2 instances of LSO, both running on the same box, but multiple grids (1 for each instance of LSO). Running 10.0.5 and 10.1.1.

We are in a similar situation as Jeremy, We have moved to VM for LBI and LSO. We are seeing the CPU usage very low even though we have many on-demand reports employees can run.
VM has worked out well for us with both LSO and LBI.

should not be a problem we are running LBI and LSO both in our VM and cluster with no problem. Thanks
