Validating Employee Addresses for tax purposes
Legacy Contributor
Does anyone out there use Silk Road for Onboarding. If yes, do you validate employee addresses prior to bringing them into Lawson and if so, what software do you use. Thanks.

I wrote a .NET routine to submit the employee's address to the US Postal Service's web site (

Thanks, Mark. I'm not a programmer. Is that something that is difficult to do?

It's fairly simple for an experienced .NET programmer, but I don't think a non-programmer would be able to do it, since it also involves accessing Red Carpet's programming API to retrieve the employee's address, and programming Lawson’s servlets to update Lawson.

In the Marketplace section on the MyLawson site there is a free ProcessFlow sample of accessing a webservice to verify postal address and there is also an example for LSO to take vendor address information on AP10 and validate it with the post office that you may be able to modify to pull from HR11 but that one does have a $99 cost attached. I haven't looked at either example so I couldn't say if either work well.

Thank you. I'll check it out.
