BN104 Frequency Table Update
deanna-plant
We are needing to add an X to one of our cycles on a benefit plan which will require us to run the BN104 program. We do not recall ever having to run this program and wondering if anyone has had any issues with it or if there are any gotchas we need to look out for?
Thank you!

I've never had an issue in the past. If you've never run it I would try it in test first just to be sure. Hate to hose prod because something unforeseen changed.............diff environment, server, app level etc.

Our scenario/solution:
We had a 27th pay period last year. We moved our pay date up to 12/31 because our usual pay date was on the New Year holiday. Benefits had been paid, but we still wanted employee contributions to 403B, 401k and Pension to be deducted. We added X to different cycle (cycle 7) for those plans and planned to run payroll using cycle 7.
BN104 is required to synchronize your employees with the updated deduction cycle, but there are other steps required to ensure all employees are update:
First you add the X to your Deduction Code Cycle on PR05.
Next, check BN04 to ensure all the X's are accounted for on your Frequency Table/s (Add or Change table/s).
Then you update BN15 to ensure the appropriate Frequency table is linked to your Deduction.
Final step is to run BN104 for the Benefit Type or Plan you modified. BN104 only affects the Benefit Type or Plan you specify and you can run it in Report Mode.
The report shows you the before and after results.
