Oracle 12c
mbozenik
Any one running Oracle 12c on AIX Unix 7.1? LSF 10.0.6 says it's supported but I get Bad file handle (15) and ladb.log says I'm using Oracle 10 client programs are not supported on this platform. I have Oracle 12cR1 installed and running. The ORACLE file has LAWGATENAME=oradb12. verifyora12 returns the Oracle 10 error, but verifyora11 works. Should I be using the oradb11 driver for an Oracle 12c database?

It looks like the LSF 10.0.6 only comes with the oracle11 drivers. It's weird because the oradb10 and oradb12 drivers are delivered along with the corresponding verify and bld drivers but they aren't loaded. So what I'm saying is I see the files but only the 11 drives are built. The file sizes for all the 10 and 12 files are 6276 bytes which is pretty much empty. Only the 11 drivers have files sizes in the megabyte range. I'm going to try using the oradb11 drivers for the Oracle 12c database and see what happens.

Did you log a case with Support around these questions/issues?

I waiting on a response.

Development indicated that at the time of the code cutoff for LSF 10.0.6, Oracle did not support AIX and HP-UX for 12c. They now do, so a patch is being created to update the drivers. That bug will be released under either
JT-652231 or JT-735117 and should be out shortly. The workaround is to use oradb11 driver to connect to Oracle 12c DB as you mentioned until the patch is released.

Awesome. That's what I was hoping to hear.
Thank you.
