Part Alias Types

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before. I searched ("part alias") and didn't find anything.

Visual's Part Maintenance, Order Mgt tab has a reference to Part Aliases. Within the dialog is the ability to enter Alias ID's , descriptions and Types.

According to Visual's help, Part Alias Types are editable. The help says as step 1, "From the Maintenance section, click the Part Alias button. The Part Alias Types dialog box appears."

There doesn't appear to be a Part Alias button in any of the Maintenance screens I've looked at (Part Maintenance's Maintenance; Application Global Maintenance; Site Maintenance). One of our databases (we have 2 Visual ERP databases) has 2 Part Alias Types defined in PART_ALIAS_TYPE. The other doesn't have anything.

Anyone know where Part Type Aliases can be entered?

I took a look at this in V10 and indeed wherever this is managed (potentially in a child window somewhere) I couldn't find it anywhere either, but PART_ALIAS_TYPE is a pretty simple table, you might have to enter these manually on the backend in SSMS or query tool…
