Inactivate Unused Accounts on Chart of Accounts

Recently, our accounting team revised the chart of accounts. We now have several accounts that are no longer used, and we want to make them inactive so they no longer show up as options. I have not been able to find a way to inactivate or remove an account from the COA. Has anyone else dealt with this, and if so, how did you handle it?

Syteline doesn't have a specific "inactive account" flag. However, with a setting of "Secure Control Accounts" enabled on the General Parameters form, you can use the Control Account flag on the chart of accounts to drop accounts from visibility. Depending on your users' security, control accounts are also blocked from journal entry activity.

Do pay attention to the application of "Allow JE to Ctrl Acct" in security. Few people, if any, should be posting entries to true Control Accounts (in my humble opinion).
