How can I execute a large query in Birst (API times out)

How can I execute a large query in Birst. I tried to use the executeQuery endpoint on the API based on previous recommendation, but even that times out. Is there any workaround for this?

QBO Long Query Timeout Workaround.docx

Although the instructions are aligned with QBO, I believe referencing a Managed Variable can translate to the executeQuery.
