PA22 Certifications - Magnet-National Certification Codes

We are looking into using the PA22 to track RN certifications for Magnet reporting and were hoping to use the Magnet-National Certification list of codes for implementing. The problem we are finding is that the size of the certification code field on the PA22 is a max of 10 and the description is a max of 30; also there are duplicate cert codes on the Magnet master list. Has anyone implemented these codes and if so how have you worked around these issues?
If you are not using Lawson to track the certifications, what software are you using and are you satisfied?

Deanna, I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if you ever implemented RN Certificaiton tracking. We've been tracking since 2008 and have seen lots of inefficiencies, especially with certifications that are no longer in use.
Have you (or anyone reading this post) had any success?

Hello,
At CMC we track certifications required by Job or Position. This is primarily done for our Clinical Staff. We had a de-centralized HR department which created some operational inefficiencies and recently centralized HR Operations to become more efficient as we prepare for Global HR-Talent Management. We created crystal reports to analyze required certification and Smart Notifications to support the renewal cycle. We expect to fully leverage employee credentials in the Competency Module of Talent Management.

At HealthEast, we use TM employee credential tracking version 10.2 and have done a lot of customization with the process flow for expiring credential notification.
As delivered, the expiring utility flow only sends to employee's whose job requires the licensure (our organization tracks licensures for employee's where the position does not "tehnically" require an RN degree).
Additionally, the notification the employee receives was not configurable (as most other TM templates).
The customization was 2 parts: send notification all employees with a licensures (regarless of essential); and a custom message with a cc to that employee's direct supervisor on the resources work assignment.
