Prenote with an amount?

Our bank is advising us to send the prenote file with a non-zero amount (for example, $.01) since some banks will not respond to transactions without an amount. PR160 only produces prenote records with a zero amount.
Has anyone run into this? Does everyone prenote with a zero amount?
Thanks for any advise.

We've also had zero. Never heard of adding the .01

Our bank is BMO Harris, but I believe they are referring to responses from various employee banks.
