High Availablity

Curious if anyone is running Lawson with High Availability. We are running Lawson on AIX and are looking to try and make this HA happen. Not sure what all is needed configuration wise to for this.

What do you mean "HA"? Defining what you are looking for will change what you can do and how you do it. In a manner of speaking, I have been running Lawson with "HA" for about 4 years.

So HACMP so Lawson can failover to another AIX server.

One way to do this is to install clusterware and create an HA resource group (meaning, clusterware must keep this running at all times). Populate the resource group with all disk mounts and the service to start a virtual container. If the physical host where the container is running fails, the cluster should move that container to another physical host where it will boot and start Lawson. Users will need to log back in, and any jobs that were running when LSF puked will need to be recovered, but this will get you back where you were in under 5 minutes. To test this, while your LSF server is running, unplug the physical server where it is running.
There is a way to do Horizontal Scaling to have several LSF servers running at the same time, but this relies on NFS shares, and if the handles go stale you're dead in the water with possible data corruption. I was unable to "unbreak" this configuration 4 years ago, and I am not willing to invest any time on it. We think a 5-minute down time is just fine.

Thanks for information Sal. Can you comment on what would be required to be installed on the local server and what can be installed on the clustered resources i.e. (WAS, IPA, LSF...etc)?

Not sure what you mean, ehgiangi.
