Report crashes
unknown
We are running Visual 7.0 SQL server 2008 on a Windows server 2008 R2 box. Also to note we are using Citrix. When my users try to print a packlist to email via pdf the application crashes. The fault module is MSVCR80.dll. Because this functions properly on a certified machine and we are running Citrix I am getting no help from infor. So far all other reports funtion properly when we print to email via pdf. Not sure where to even look on this one. Has anybody seen this?

Yes, not sure if I've had the same error, but I know that Adobe Reader does not 'play well' with 64-bit Office (Outlook). Is that what you have installed? If so, you might need to use the 32-bit version of Office.

Thanks for the response. We are already running 32-bit Office. What is strange to me is that other reports are fine it just seems to be this one.

Ah. How about this link?

Hi,
I am also running Visual 7.0 SQL Server 2008R2 on a WinSrv08R2 and i just tried it and it worked out fine. I am in a Terminal Server environment as well. No folder redirection vis group policy though. We don't use the email option much but wanted to check and see if it worked. I did notice that the file name referenced the custom packlist form we use. We are also using old 2003 office. I did a search for the file name and seen the result com back with a unify
untime location. Make sure you have the latest runtime installed also. 5.2
Thanks,
Gerald

Our email option works but not if we select .pdf. Once we select that it crashes. We do have the latest Unify/runtime but are using office 2007. Wonder if office could be the issue? I really appreciate all the responses! At least I am getting some info so I know where to start!

Gerald you were able to email a pdf in your enviornment? I am able to email just not as a pdf?
unknown
Yes! The document produced was in the name of our customized packlist name. Email automatically opened and the attachment placed in the email.
Can you attach an email pdf's in a regular email? Some security settings (starting with office 2007) prevented this so make sure you can attach an email a pdf successfully outside of visual first!
Thanks,
Gerald

I am able to use everything properly outside of visual. Can I ask what permissions you have set for your modified reports folder? Also if I open unify to modify a report and I then close it I get an error. The faulty module is im8pdf.del-unloaded. Do you get this as well?
unknown
I have full permissions on the report folder but "modify" should work as well. I do not get that error when closing Unify Report Builder.
Thanks,
Gerald

What version of Xenapp are you running?

We are running Visual 7.0 and Visual.NET / SQL server 2008 / on a Windows server 2008 R2 box via remote desktop to a hosted server, 64-bit environment.
Sometimes when running reports in Visual.NET for extract or print view, Visual.NET crashes. This may also occur when running another MS program such as calc on the remote desktop.
Our MS Framework and .NET are both up-to-date.

We are strictly Windows Terminal Server, no citrix in my environment.

We are also running Visual.net 64bit. All applications are ran from the SQL Server. We have only the client install on Terminal Servers and the shortcuts pointing to the executables on the SQL server. I have not had reports of this happening from my user community.
