Alternatives to BSI TaxFactory?

Does anyone know if Lawson supports any tax solution other than BSI?

I know that Infor has been working with another company on an alternative, but I can't remember what there name is. I would contact your Account rep and inquire. I believe it was the one they used for their old Geac Payroll system that ran on the mainframe.

Yes, Infor has an in-house alternative called Alltax. It is not great at local taxes but it works well for clients in just one or two states. It does have lower costs than BSI. I was a Lawson Consultant on the first client that went with Alltax and they where only in Georgia which has no locals. Alltax worked fine for them. The one big differance is you have to go back to the old Lawson practice of setting up the tax deductions as required deductions PR03, with the criteria of who gets what. Alltax works well but it's not for everybody.

Thanks Ken. That is what we used on our old mainframe payroll system which was Geac before Infor purchased it. It worked well for us then and we were approached about using it when we went live in January, but it sounded like they were still working out the bugs so we thought we would give it a year or so before we went with them. We only pay in one state and only take out taxes for one city so it was not a problem for our old payroll system.

How is at calculating 401k, 403b, 457 maximums, catch-ups? Education reimbursements?, etc.?
