Print Manager contextual application for Ming.le
Legacy Contributor
Does anyone have user feedback on the Print Manager contextual application available within Workspace/Ming.le?
Our super users like the ability to view their print files without having to launch Print Manager, however I'm concerned that the standard users may not appreciate that the print files displayed are dynamic based on the form that the user accesses.
- User launches online form, all of their print files display in the Print Manager contextual application
- User launches batch form, ONLY the print files for the batch form display in the Print Manager contextual application
I'm curious if others who are testing or have implemented v10 ran into user questions/confusion around the Print Manager contextual application and, if so, what was done to remedy this (hide web part, training, etc).
Thank you!
Anna

Hi Anna,
We've been live on v10 for about a month now and I have only heard good things about it. Some of the standard users didn't realize what it was until I showed them. And to that they really liked it. Some of them go to the batch form to get to the print manager via the button on the top of the form. When I showed them the contextual app they were more than thrilled that the app filtered the files by the batch screen they were sitting on.
I haven't heard of anyone that was confused by it.

Thanks for sharing your experience Jeremy!
I think as long as the training is in place, the users will really like this functionality - especially, as you said, if they are saved that extra click on the batch form.
As a side question - do you allow your users to add/remove web parts from their personal page?

We just had a brief document explaining some of the differences that we made available. I wish we could do a better job with training on new stuff around here, but small number of support staff makes it hard.
The permissions are granted to allow users to add/remove web parts (I think that's needed to allow the favorites app to work), but we didn't show them how to do that.
