I think, in the past, I have used Apache Directory Studio to export the list. Using the LDAP tool makes it easier for me to pull data out. You have options for CSV, etc.. (that said, I don't specifically recall extracting Groups, but would imagine you could)

Yeah, it works. I just did Groups from Apache tool, and got it into a spreadsheet (xlsx) format. It has a column="cn", and all my Groups I have defined in that Environment. Took me 2seconds.

Thank you, mcmill. I was able to successfully use Softerra LDAP Browser and basically used your suggestion to export a csv.

Have there been any developments in extracting the Infor LDAP extension data from a "command line" using readily available tools such as Jxplorer or Softerra? The last time we did this it required manually highlighting the records and exporting to a file from the LDAP client screen. It's not the end of the world but does not lend itself towards being used in an automated process such as a daily integrity check. We were considering using Open LDAP but have not yet had the time to install and write the code to perform the extract.

There are a number of automated methods to extract or backup LDAP data, just google it. Both hot and cold backups, and if you dig a bit you can find the commands to back up specific branches. Sorry I don't have specific instructions; I have to rebuild my notes on this.

FYI...stay tuned to future releases of Infor Process Automation. We have heard other customers ask about LDAP queries and our intent is to include a LDAP Query node that will allow you to query any LDAP server, extract data, then use that data with standard IPA nodes/tools (email, file access, etc.). That should open up some new possibilities as compared to command line or other manual tools.

I was just pinging a colleague on this - we have several new system build coming, and I personally like using the tool (like Apache) to dump ldif files, but have never had to ldapmodify, etc.. ldif file dumps are pretty straight forward, just have not had to import ldif files - that I can remember
