Education Tracking
unknown
Our HR department wants to be able to record in Lawson all classes an employee takes to get Educational Assistance reimbursements. Does anyone track CEUs or College Courses anywhere? I was thinking about PA20

Due to the amount of information we need to track (courses, dates, amount paid, amount remaining) we built an Access database. With this database, we are also able to create a csv file to load into Lawson via PR530 to pay the reimbursements to the employee.

We use the Lawson S3 Training module. You can build courses on TR01, there are places to build session, attached skills to populate PA screens upon completion etc. The actual recording of traing history is then stored on a TR21 screen. It resides in the personnel administration piece.
Let me know if you want additional information.

One other thing. If you reimburse employees for courses and want to track that you can use the LP system to do that.

Interesting. How do you have that set up?

which?
Training or the LP plan.
Training starts with tr01 screens and the LP would start with creating a plan to track dollars.

Is anyone using LP to track reimbursements?

We currently track tuition assistance using Access and looking to find a way to track in Lawson so that it is attached to the employee and each hospital is using the same screens and forms to track the tuition cost no matter if it is waviers provided to the school and we pay the school directly or we issue the employee a check after they completed and passed the class. Please share if anyone know a solution.

We receive/approve requests for tuition assistance through a module we created in Employee Self-Service (process flow/design studio). We process the payments, once approved, separately but log the committment on PA27 contracts. Our policy requires a pro-rated repayment if the employee does not meet a service requirement after payment so the contract for Tuition Assistance is the begin date (day they received reimbursement) and the end date (day their service requirment will be met) and the Description (Dollar amount of the reimbursement). We only use one code but you could potentially use a different type for every kind of payment if the difference is important to you. We also wrote a smartnote that triggers a notice to our Employee Relations team if the employee terminates or changes status before fullfillment of the "contract" so we can begin the collection process.

Hi Imelda, can you send me more information to my email bjgay@premierhealth.com . We are looking at our options of tracking tuition assistance.

Has anyone built an LP allotment plan that would allow a new balance allotted every year based on level of educational assistance the employee is eligible for and then track paid reimbursement through the LP70 screen? Don't have alot of experience with allotment plans but would be interested in any information. Our HR department wants to be able to run reports out of Lawson to show what reimbursements have been made and what remaining balance of reimbursement is allowed.
