ESS message on our Open Enrollment

We are in the middle of our open enrollment for year 2016 (starting 01-01-2016) and we're using ESS. I have an employee that is trying to log back into the open enrollment section and is receiving the error: “You cannot use web enrollment. You have pending and current benefit elections. Contact the benefits department to enroll”. I remember having this issue when the employee has an old 2014 or 2015 date on at least one of the elections in the BNBEN table, so I just deleted them in BS31 and the problem was solved, but in this case all the start dates are 01-01-2016. I will appreciate any help.

Check the dates on the employee's 2015 elections are they after the Current Date you set on BS01? This will restrict online elections.

Thanks you very much for responding. When you said employee's 2015 elections, you mean employee current elections in BN32?

My current benefit date value in BS01 is 11/01/2015.

The employee finished its elections for 2016 and want to log back to see its elections again and print out the confirmation page. So, the only data available in BNBEN is related to its new elections for 2016.

Even though the start dates are all 2016, did you check both the bs31.1 and bs30.1? That messages comes from the bessload.js module. It checks the bnben table and if there are records it counts those as pending..it then goes to the bs10 screen and checks existing benefits there. might want to check the benefit table and the bnben table for her and compare...

Try to delete pending benefits in BS531.
Select all the Benefits Type that are offered during Open Enrollment
Enrollment Type = 1 (Annual)
Date Range: 01/01/2016 - 12/31/2016
Delete = Y
