Benefit Plan Start Date Change
We have been doing HRA coverage levels since 2008 and at that time we defined a custom field on a custom table to keep the election and the history of changes. Last year, I defined the HRA plan as an RS plan type. We use this only to allow employees to enter a coverage type of automatic, manual or waive option. We continued to update the custom table with a process flow that loaded the benefit plan election.
So now we are trying to eliminate keeping the information in two tables and would like to load the past years on the benefit plan. So I was asked to change the Benefit Plan start date back to 1/1/2008, so we can load the history on the benefit plan and not use the custom table anymore for the history prior to 10/7/12, which is when I set-up the RS - HRA benefit plan.
In our test system, I was able to change the plan start date to 1/1/2008 and add a new entry rule with 1/1/2008 with no errors. I tried a BN105, but there was nothing to update so it was blank.
My question is has anyone ever changed a plan start date to a date prior to the original defined start date? If so, is there anything that could be an issue that I may be missing?
