How does Exclude work in HR55.3 Employee Group Selection criteria Item Groups? It appears to work differently than the "OR" logic applied to Includes (I).

It has been my experience that you can't INCLUDE more than one of each item within an item group, but you can EXCLUDE as many as youd like within each item group.
For example, I needed to set up an employee group that included the job codes 0313690, 0313700 and 0313710, but excluded anyone in status 30 or any status between 49 and 60.
Since I had three different job codes to include, I had to set up three different item groups. But I could put both of the exclude statements within each item group. Here's what it looks like:

Thanks for the explanation and example, Mark.
Within the same item group IncExc = I items get "ANDED" together,
but IncExc = E items get "OR'ED" together.

(Job code = 0313690 AND NOT(Status = 30 OR STATUS BETWEEN 49 AND 60))
OR
(Job code = 0313700 AND NOT(Status = 30 OR STATUS BETWEEN 49 AND 60))
OR
(Job code = 0313710 AND NOT(Status = 30 OR STATUS BETWEEN 49 AND 60))
