RQC access for multiple companies
gtesche
Do any of you have a way to allow a single user with a single sign on ID access to order for more than one company? Since company is a required field in RQ04, we've not been able to get around that single company access issue.

We tried setting up a second company but we ran into too many issues. We built accounting units to indentify the other company.

RQ04 is a confusing screen but it handles multiple companies.
Add the first company and set the AUs.
Change the Company to the second company (Hit Change). Switch to the AU tab. Hit Inquire. The AUs disappear. Add the AUs for the second company. Hit change.
Doing this adds the Company/AU combinations to the RQACCTU table and the user will be able to request for both companies.

I second what djechevarr said. This is exactly how we manage our multiple company access with users.

Okay, I think I did that part correctly. Once they are in RQC, where do they change the company they want to order from?

On the profile page prior to adding an item.

Do they have to be setup with access to both companies with their RMID?

Depends on your security class rules. We allow requesters to request for any company because it must route for approval.

You may also need to make a change in the RQC config file to allow users to change company and requesting location. We allow our requesters to order from any company, which still route for approvals. We use RQ04 to setup their defaults.

We have a configuration that has the company field available for requesters to select the company for orders.
Ironically, in my testing I have found that if I set a requester up with company 200, and associated accounting units - but do not have another company setup on their RQ04 record - if they change the company on RQC to 250, put in an associated requesting location for 250, they are not limited for any of those 250 accounting units. They are in essence wide open for comapny 250. We allowed the company change, as we have a few who need to order for multiple companies. We train them to change the entries on RQC. I had no idea you could add two companies to a requester.

Victoria - We discovered that as well and what we have done is add the company with an AU that doesn't have a requesting location associated with it. This then locks them down to the one AU that they can't even order from. Basically, if you don't fake it in RQ04 then they are wide open for all other companies!

djechevarr - do you know what needs to be included in security class rules to allow for changing the company in RQC?
unknown
Victoria - Finance created an AU in all companies with no access to any accounts. When I created new requesters, I use Addins to upload all companies and this locked down AU, so requesters can only order for the companies / AUs they should.
We are also working on writing a security rule so they will only see req locs they have access to order for based on the AUs they have access to.
I believe in 10, the RQ04 AU tab is enhanced to show multiple companies.

To be able to change the company in RQC you have to modify the rqc_config.xml file:

Anyone here using Lawson Apps 10 version? I'm told that this multiple company setup in RQ04 should be easier, but I'm not finding that.
