Piece rate pay
mlehmann
Does anybody pay piece rate for any employees. If so how do you have it set up? We only pay hourly and salaried today. Our company is wanting the option to be able to pay piece rate.

We pay meter readers a set amount per electric or water meter read. The pay code is set up as an R=Normal Rate and the Rate is per 100 meters read. The time record hours value is the number (in hundreds) of meters read. This pay code has been used since 2001 when Lawson was implemented, so I'm not sure why it was set up as per-100. I would guess it would work as well at an each level.
We also pay school crossing guards per session - ie. 10 morning sessions, 10 afternoon sessions, etc. The pay code is set up like the meter reader, but at an each level. The time record hours value is the number of crossing guard sessions they worked.
