Opera II OLE error code 0x.

Hi,

I am sure I am having a senior moment and this has been covered before.

when logging into OII, OII gets as far as building the standard Toolbar, but not OII menu or menu browser. then "OLE error code 0x."

OII 7.42.00
New machine Win7 x64
Logged in with Admin rights
Install OII client from server
Change permissions on Pegasus folders to Everyone - Full Access
Manually installed Amuri drivers

Any ideas please.

You need to manually register MSCOMCTL32.OCX, the Microsoft Common Controls library which provides the treeview for the menu.

Hi Alan. We have used this 'fix' on a number of sites over the last few years with great success until today.

- all other users onsite working okay

- this user okay yesterday

- system restore completed success but no change

- reinstalled client

- regsvr32 "C:WindowsSysWOW64MSCOMCTL.OCX"

Any other suggestions please?

Morning all,

We have a customer with the exact same issue. We have also tried re-registering the MSCOMCTL.OCX file which succeeded but has not resolved the issue.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Little update:-

I received a call from Marsida at Pegasus shortly after posting this. She advised we check for the presence of WebRoot antivirus on the computer as this can prevent the .ocx file from registering correctly. Sure enough we found it on the customer's computer, disabled it, registered the file again and it's now all working correctly (thank you Marsida!).

This has worked. Webroot AV was installed. Ended up uninstalling Webroot, re-register the MSCOMCTL.OCX file. No errors now loading the ribbon bar. AV re-installed.
