HR11 Gray Tabs, missing buttons

Hello, We are experiencing multiple issues where users are seeing grayed out tabs and missing buttons, mostly using HR11, HR13, PA12. Transferring to HR11 and drill-arounds often cause this. The one thing that has changed on our system is using AIX P7 processors (from P5).

Has anyone run into anything like this before? Websphere, Lawson configuration perhaps? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

What environment version are you on? We had this issue until we upgraded to 9.0.1.11.

We made the same move to AIX P770 without any issue.

Are you seeing anything in the logs when you do these transactions?

Also have you tried using fiddler to see if any messages appear?

This sounds more like a security issue. Was there any other changes made to patch, apply service pack etc? Could be related to your lawsec.jar file but hard to tell.

Yes, we have tried Fiddler and sent results to Lawson. They have not considered this major but still trying to keep this open, as it is now an extreme annoyance. I agree that security may be the issue too. Just not seeing anything out of the usual. We are on 9.0.1.10. Sure hope an upgrade isn't the fix. Thanks

John, this sounds like a known issue. Unfortunately it isn't fixed in 9.0.1.10.

Joleen is correct. We had to get to 9.0.1.11 and then install, I believe, LSFCT_AIX71_09000111P24027.

Probably not the answer you wanted, but we fought this for a long time and it did indeed fix the issue.

I had not seen this one. Thank you. We plan to upgrade the env by next summer to stay compliant (after ESP13 release). I was under the impression that 9.0.1.10 is supported but no "fixes" will be available. A full env upgrade is a major undertaking here. If there are steps to remedy this, or at least lessen the # incidents it would make things much more palatable.

When we experienced missing buttons, it was typically after we recompiled all the system codes or installed a very large ctp. Typically, recompiling the programs in question resolved the issue for us.

Yes, good thought. I did do individuals. Unlike the old days full system compiles seem to work well. I will schedule that very soon. Thank you all vey much for your responses.

Sometimes just recompiling the called programs will work.
lstinvk -q prodline hr11 * will get you all of the programs that hr11 calls
Then you need to compile hr11 as well
qcompile prodline hr hr11

Follow up/repeat with other programs as needed.

Yes, that has been done. Twice in fact. Doing the same for others to cover the bases might help also, agreed. Being our "peak" retail season I may just have to do individual compiles other than HR11/lstinvk. Very strict on any changes here until after xmas. It could very well help. Thank you
