HR11 User Fields and Add-ins

I am trying to to use Add-ins to populate a new user field on the HR11. We have included the field key in the upload for the user field as well as the value. I run the upload for 3 staff, get the message Change Complete - Comtinue. However, when I review it on the HR11, no value was populated. Any ideas?

I had the same problem so I created PA52 actions that I use when I need to upload to HR11 User Fields. They work great! And you have the historical PA52 action as a record of what/when was uploaded.

We make very few changes directly on the HR11 screen.

You might have to run PA100. Check PA52 to se if the changes are there in a pending status.

These instructions and file template were very useful to us last year during our implementation! There are some tricky things about using the Add-Ins for HR11 user fields but it can be done.

If you find that you are having a lot of trouble, even with a template, email Don Peterson at Infor (don.peterson@infor.com) - he wrote Add Ins, and is always willing to point you to a template he wrote, or work on a new one for you.

We use HR511 a couple times per year for mass changes to user fields. With HR511 you have the option of writing the changes to History.

You also have to include the the field emp_app, a zero if it is an emplyee, as it is part of the key

Uploading to Userfields via HR11 really isn't that difficult, what I've noticed however is that a lot of people don't realize that the two digit field key you get from the system is actually not the real key. You need to prepend a 20 to the front of the key (e.g. 98 becomes 2098).

On the obverse side however, I only update 'non-essential' userfields (i.e. t-shirt size or employee banquet RSVP status) via HR11 uploads and use uploads to PA52 when updating 'essential' userfields (i.e. the clock number and payrule being used by our time keeping software) so the audit history is cleaner and clearer.
