Report on Logan Bookmarks
Legacy Contributor
In an effort to synch all of our Environments with the PRODUCTION bookmarks, I am trying to compile a report that shows all bookmarks, any corresponding child bookmark, Bookmark#, URL, etc.. Has anyone had any success grouping the Parent > Child Bookmark, share some tips? Ideally, it will be used as our 'Bible / Index' to keep track of bookmarks. Any advice is welcomed

As I'm sure you are aware, the bookmarks live in LOGAN, specifically in the LOBKMARK table.
The first 2 columns of this table should give you all the information that you need for setting up the parent/child relationships.
The first column is the book mark number and the second one is the parent book mark number.
For the actual parent book marks, they'll have a parent of 0.

Then you can pull the name, description and bookmark URL from that same table to round out your report.

Yes, when we need to extract and evaluate bookmarks, we do the same that Greg has suggested, via a simple SQL query against the LOBKMARK table.

Yeah - thanks folks. I guess I should clarify more - I can get the bookmarks, and bookmark groups (linked group table) but, part of my challenge is grouping by Bokkmark Group, Access, and the Bookmarks they have access to (Parent > Child)

If you are using the Group info to determine who sees the relevant Bookmarks, do not forget to Lock etc. each/all Environments.

You only really need to lock at the Parent level, then give totall access at the Child level - is that correct?
