ESS New Hire Benefits Enrollment prior to hire date

We would like to have employees complete new hire benefits enrollment prior to their hire date but receive this message:

You may only select benefits within the first 30 days from your hire date.

Contact your benefits department if you need assistance.

Our rule on the BS05 is 30 days from Hire date.

Does anyone do this and if so/how?

Did you ever find out how to handle this? I am new to Lawson as of Jan 2016 and would love to know how other companies are handling this as well.
