Check Amount when Partial ACH
marshr
Does anyone know if there is a place to view the payroll check amount when a payment is partial ACH; other than the PR85 or manually taking the net pay less direct deposit amounts from the PR51? I would expect it to be somewhere in the employee drill data from the PR51, but I have not had any luck locating it there. Thanks!

Saundra, we were told by our IT staff that an employee could not have both a partial ACH deposit & a check for a payday (either one of the other); how are you able to do that?
Sorry, I know this does not answer your question.
thanks

It must be your IT dept policy (though typically it would be an HR policy, not an IT policy) that does not allow both ACH and Check. Many companies have this policy, as there is no savings with ACH if a check is also allowed. However there is no system restriction in Lawson - unless it is a restriction in a "downstream system" such as your check/advice stub printing system.

We don't have any partial ACH's, but we do have a Crystal report that lists all checks, remittances, and paperless payments. When there is a paper check, the Check Amount in the PAYMASTR table is populated. When the payment is either ACH or paperless, the Check Amount is zero. I can't verify this, but perhaps the partal ACH will include the partial check amount in the Check Amount field of the PAYMASTR....?

Connie - I would agree that it is a policy that is stipulating no partial ACH for your employees. We have quite a few employees that have chosen this option at some point. We do this by setting up the ACH in the PR12.1 as usual and then choose "P" for partial on the HR11 Pay tab in the "Automatic Deposit" field.
This partial ACH option has been helpful for some of our employees that are reluctant to move over to direct deposit. It allows them to give it a try and still have the security of receiving a paper check. Often they will convert to full ACH after a short time.

I was able to locate the check amount in the PAYMASTR file. I am able to pull it in a query. However, I am still hoping for a place within the Lawson inquiry/drill screens to view without running a query or report. It may only be visible on the PR85?

I have not seen it in any Lawson inquiry screens or drill around - only PR85. You are correct the PAYMASTR table holds the check amount in the Check_Net field for Check_type = P. PR162 shows the check amount and direct deposit amount also.

Thanks Saundra & Barb for your input on the ACH/check issue - I will need to pursue this.
