Printing Issue with Canon iR1730
unknown
We have a department that has a Canon iR1730 printer and now needs to be able to print a Final Issue from PO20 and can't. I can change the printer to any of our HP printers (in different areas) and the user prints fine, but I can't get the Canon to print. I have tried installing generic drivers as well as the Canon driver for that printer, but haven't been successful. Is there anyone in this group successfully printing from a Canon on the laprint process of Lawson? The user can print fine from Portal going to her local printer, it is just the jobs/forms that uses Lawson (laprint) to print that isn't working.
Thanks in advance.

Although your printer is Canon, try using the basic HP printer driver. We had the same issue years ago with the Toshiba multifunction copiers that were used as network printers. The laprint commands to do not like all the high tech functionality of the new printers.

We had to install the Canon iR-ADV 6255/6265 UFR II drivers, name the printer a short name (as lawson is limited in the prtdef) then we could configure the printer via prtdef example:
laprint -0 landscape - 8 \servernameFN (FN=our printer name)
laprint -s two_short -z 7 \serernameFN
etc.

I will give those both a try and let you know. Thanks for the quick responses.

Changing it to the HP Universal driver did the trick. Thanks!
