New employees - partial month via PR134

We are a new Lawson customer trying to configure our HR/Payroll system, and we had a question on employees who start in the middle of the month. Our employees are paid once at the end of the month, but we have new employees starting in the middle of the month. We ran a test for October 2015 that included an employee who started on 10/05/15, and he got paid for the full month instead of just the days that he worked. We have our system set up to generate automatic time records via the PR134 job, and for the new employee, it gave him the full 173.33 hours for the month instead of prorating the partial month.

Is there a way to set it up so that partial month calculations are done automatically?

i usually edit the time record in PR35.2 - Hours and Wages .When I ran my PR134, I usually print the last page and verify the last few employees when is their start date or if got paid last pay period.

I am not aware of a way to automate pro-rates for new hires. We create a spreadsheet with negative time records to reduce the standard time record as needed for new hires (i.e. we run a bi-weekly payroll so if employee should only be paid 40 hours we would add a -40.00 hours. The standard time record is 80 so this would need a payment of 40 hours). This spreadsheet is then loaded into Lawson via the PR530. This has worked well for us since 2001.
