PA22 Certification

I have an employee who moved from NH to ME and is not renewing her RN license in NH. I would prefer not to delete the NH license to maintain history even though it is expired. My problem is when I run a crystal report I created for expiring licenses, the NH license is showing up as expired. Do you keep prior licenses in PA22 and, if so, how do you suppress them from reports?

We do keep history in PA22. We created a coding system where we mark a license as inactive. We modify the record (in your case the NH record) to add a "_ZZ" (underscoree and two captal letter Zs) at the end of the license number field. So before, it was R12345 and after it was R12345_ZZ. We then coded our Smartnotifications to "ignore" any record that ends in "_ZZ". This process is not without its problems. For example, the record still shows up on EMSS for the employee and leader. We also use this is our addins queries criteria if we pull a list that way but they will show up on PA222.

If you did something similar, you could add this as exclusion criteria in your crystal report. (I'm assuming here-I don't write crystal myself) It's manual and clunky, I know, but we couldn't come up with a better solution without just deleting the record entirely, which we chose not to do.
