NACHA Formatted tape file
patrycja-szymanska
We have Wells Fargo as our bank and want to use Safe Transmission to submit one NACHA formatted file. The tape file that comes out of PR160 has no carriage returns and line feeds and the bank says it needs both.
Yesterday we tried using the cnvexp filename 94 command to put them in there but that only enters line feeds. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Hi Steve,
There was a knowledge base article on this that we used for this... you actually have to change the file in workdef.. see attached.

We did not change the workdef. Instead we create the ACH tape in our bank formats (we have two diff banks) using ProcessFlow. The flow includes the cnvexp command followed by Data Iterator and File appends to create the desired output file, and then invokes a secure FTP to the appropriate bank.

We tried the knowledgebase article but when the programmer tried to compile PR160 it failed to recompile.

HI we have wells fargo too and we had another issue - they required a security header that was not on the lawson file from PR160. The approach we took was to create a custom 4gl program that had the right workdef definition in (to get the carriage returns) but also programmatically added a security record. We did not touch the wrokdef for PR160.

Hi Steve,
This setting is more of a global setting not specific to PR160. Not sure how your programmer did this but here is a screen print of what we have in our PROD product line.
I just noticed that this was not setup in our Train product line so I changed it and recompiled PR160 just fine.

We found that that the settings on PR160 for Originating DFI wouldn't pull / place the bank number in correct line so we created a custom Web site that the Payroll department enters their Lawson Job Name in obtains the ACH file updates with the correct bank information and any other format adjustments and places a copy in the a location that will be used to encrypt and transfer to the bank.
We also did something similar to this for the AP160.
