Setting up Stop Dates for Beneifts

We have our bonus plans set up as a default defined benefit. We have add and term rules defined at the defined benefit level. I’ve noticed that when an employee moves from one plan to another the stop date of the old plan is the same as the start date of the new plan. Is there any way to set the plan up so the stop date of the old plan is the day prior to the start date of the new plan? For example: Employee changes from a manager to a director on 7/1/2014. I would like the plans to look like this: Manager bonus plan start 7/1/2013 and end 6/30/2014. Director bonus plan start on 7/1/2014.
