Output Signed fields from Lawson

Has anyone ever created an interface containing signed fields? My fields are defined as COMP-3 but looking at the output... they are more bytes than they should be.

With Cobol signed fields will have an extra byte for the sign. What are you trying to do?

shouldn't S9(3)V99 comp-3 fields take only 4 bytes?

I thought it would take 3 bytes. How many is it showing?

It is showing 5 bytes. I have defined the output file as type "Tape".
