Multiple LASE servers, ISS, and Troubles Unlocking Proccesses
aszeglin
Hi everyone! I'm new to the forums, but I was hoping someone else had seen what we're seeing in our pre-production environment.
We're on LSF 10.0.4 and Landmark 10.0.4, and have ISS installed. SSOP is the PAS (primary authenticating service). ISS is installed on our LSF environment. During Infor training, it was recommended to use two LASE servers. One for default (although I'm not sure if this should change), and the second for User Monitoring and Federation.
The problem we're running into now is that using ssoconfig; we're unable to see the locked processes. We get the typical "Error when retrieving locked processes: Required attribute LOCKS is missing from message (Error: No more tokens)." error.
In the derby log, we see that "Another instance of Derby may have already booted the database". It's almost as if the first LASE server has Derby embedded and the second LASE server is trying to open a connection to it.
If I remove the second LASE server, I can view the locked processes. Federation sync works with the second LASE server. Has anyone else experienced this and have a work around?

I remember seeing the same issues when I first installed ISS on 10.0.4. After opening a support case, the support engineer told me that a 2nd lase server wasn't really necessary and that was still kind of buggy. Everything is running fine on one lase processes. I'd try changing the config to go back to using 1 lase process and see what performance is like.

I believe we've already seen issues running on just one. We haven't outright brought it down. When we drop back down to one, ssoconfig works fine to view locked processes.

I'd open a ticket with support. The ones that work on the security team are pretty good and know that pretty well. When I tried setting up the 2nd server, there was some bugs in that, which is why I went back to just 1. But I don't keep user monitoring turned on unless I need it for something specific (license audit will start using this data if it's available). I was using the ISS version from last November or December. I'm now running the version that was released in March, but haven't tried running multiple servers.
