Moving from Oracle to SQL Server

Our company is currently using Oracle 9i with Visual Manufacturing 6.4.1. We are going to move to 6.5.x before the end of the year. Our Oracle maintenance has expired & we're looking at just making the move to SQL Server.

I would like to hear comments from people who have been using SQL Server with Visual. Also if any of those people made the move from Oracle, that would be helpful as well.

Lastly, we use a Value-Added Reseller to help with our installs, updates, etc. Is there more than one VAR out there that we can look at to help with these items? Should we even be using a VAR?

I appreciate your thoughts on this, as I am new to Visual & supporting it. Thanks.
