LTM - how do you allow users to access LTM

Hi! We've been using LSF for several years and LTM for a couple years. Our biggest issue with LTM is user access to LTM. Originally, some users had the Rich Client installed on their PC; others accessed the Rich Client from an icon on their desk, which was a thin app of the rich client , rolled out by our Desktop support; and the 3rd method was via citrix. The thin app is very slow. Citrix is faster, but requires licensing. The web applet works fairly well for some of our users. However the issue with that is it requires users to have the required version of java. At our facility, we have various applications requiring varying versions of java. We've discussed just rolling out java to all pcs. Does anyone have any experience with users who may have 2 or more versions of java on their PC? Will that work? That would be less costly (if it works) than completely using Citrix.

We went live with LTM last June. When we went live we went with the rich client applet in the browser for managers and employees, and the rich client desktop install for core HR users. Yes, ensuring a consistent java platform in the browser is a pain. At go live time, our organization was still running in IE8 so those were the only options. Since then our desktop standard has become IE11 and we are now able to roll out the HTML5 version of LTM for manager and employee space. We are in pilot phase right now with no real time frame yet for roll out. Core HR users will continue to use rich client until all functionality is built in HTML5. We're running version 10.2
