MSP's Sequential?
Legacy Contributor
Do MSP's need to be applied sequentially? We were on 9.0.1.7 and just applied 9.0.1.11. Will that cover all that was in 8, 9, and 10?

No, they are inclusive - you can skip the ones in between.
ESPs are the same. CUs for Landmark are the same.

Thanks, Hans.

As part of applying a MSP or ESP, I suggest also reviewing available patches (CTP's) issued since the Service Pack was released. If you identify any that are look important to you, then apply those, one at a time, in ascending numerical order, before you even start testing. Ideally, you then only need to do your testing once, and have all already fixed the bugs that other people found first.

Need to clarify Jack's response:
CTPs do NOT need to be applied sequentially. The AMT will compare any and all code updates and only apply the new deliverables applicable to your system. So customer A and customer B applying the same CTP will render very different results in the actual delivery, while achieving the same end result in versions now in use. Long story short - it doesn't matter the order applied when it comes to CTPs.
Environment patches probably should go in order.
I would definitely apply all available environment patches on top of the ESP you are applying so that you are testing once. In real practice though, doing that for CTPs on the application side (on top of an MSP) will be a much harder effort to identify and execute. My own experience is not to go to this level on the Apps side and just see what shakes out from testing.
