Position Management
rchudek1
Who is responsible for position management? Is the responsibility consolidated and in one area? Do you have parts of the responisibilites broken out so that some management resides with one group and others elsewhere?
Do you tie supervisors to position? Can more than 1 employee share a supervisor position number?
From a time keeper system perspective, do you tie people to a position? or supervisor to position?
What is your definition of a supervisor based on the HR07 table? or how do you use the HR07 table?

Many are resonsible for position management, HR, Finance, Dept Managers.
My responses are using S3 product not LTM.
We do tie supervisors to positions so that the defaulting and auto assignment on HR07/HR11 occurs when a supervisor resigns and the successor is hired. More than 1 person can not share a supervisor number. We do tie people to a position and also the supervisor based on HR07 and PA02 attributes.

HR is the only department responsible for Position Management. We tie the employee to the position, and we do have multiple employees tied to one position code. For the most part the supervisor structure works perfectly when there's only one supervisor/manager for that specific position. We have run into issues where all the employees are in one department and have two different supervisors. In that case we have to tie the supervisor code at the employee level.
