ProcessFlow 9.0.1 Copy from one Flow to Another Flow
dscheppa
Can anyone help me understand the best way to copy from one flow to another flow?
I want to use some of the functionality from one process level approval Flow and take it to another Flow.
Is that possible using ProcessFlow Designer?

As long as you are using the Eclipse version of the designer then yes you can copy from one flow to another. You can select a single node and right click and choose copy and open a new flow page and right click and choose paste or you can hold down the left mouse to select multiple nodes and then copy and paste to a new flow or to the current flow.

Depending on how much you need to copy, it may be easier to save the flow with a new name and make edits to the nodes than it is to copy/paste from one flow to another. This is useful when you have a lot of nodes but only one or two will change; otherwise, it's more trouble than it's worth.

At times, we use another flow as the basis for a new flow, then delete, change and/or add the new nodes. Other times, copy-n-paste a node from one flow into another.

One somewhat related suggestion -
If you copy the nodes to a different flow, the node IDs will be changed in the new flow. Be sure to review the OnError tab on the action nodes and update the flowname and nodename references. If your new flow has errors, and you haven't done this, the error will show the old node names since these are not variablized. This can be mighty confounding when trying to troubleshoot issues.
I know the node names have been variablized in later versions of the IPA designer, but I don't know if it was fixed in earlier versions.
Good Luck!
