Separation Process Flow

We are creating a separation process flow to notify appropriate areas when a caregiver leaves. We do no currently use MSS to start this process, but would like to. The system would then create the pending acton until after the caregivers seperation date. Communication would then be sent out. Is anyone using process flow with separation (voluntary and involutnary) that they would be willing to share or suggestions/tips as we start this process?

We have been using MSS Personnel Action to terminate employees since 2008. We do not currently generate notices to IT (and other interested parties) until the action is actually updated (via PA100) rather than on receipt of the action. We don't do the notification out of process flow, either. The process flow includes a notice to the submitter (usually the supervisor) that the action has been processed and they should complete the exit checklist (which is an embedded link in the email). The checklist includes a item for submitting an offboarding request to IT. However, we have a "changes file" that we send to our many IT teams letting them know when individuals are hired/rehired, terminated or transfered so they can make the appropriate changes to their respective systems.

I would prefer triggering the notices from the process flow as you are considering but our teams decided that the volume would be too high to get those indiviudally versus in batch. I'd be happy to discuss our process in more detail if you are interested.
