Limit Ordering of Items by Multiples
Legacy Contributor
Hi,
Does Lawson have the ability to limit or define how you can order a stock item.
For example, a box of 100 syringes, is there a way to define an ability to limit requesters to order this item by mulitples of 10. So rather than ordering a box of 100 EA's, can we set the system up to allow them to order the items by 10 EA's or 20 EA's?
Let me know if more clarification if needed.
Thanks

Nevermind, found what I was looking for in IC12. Sorry and thanks!

Hi John - What did you find in IC12? Does it apply to just stock items, or would it work with non-stock direct to vendor orders entered into RQ10 (we do not have RQC yet). We put a note in the 2nd description field in IC11 to advise ordering in multiples required but that isn't always noticed.

To be honest, we haven't tested it yet so I'm not sure. Doing a little more research on it today actually. That's one of the topics we had discussed. Hoping we can use it for both non-stock and stock items. But, we'll soon find out for sure.

If you're referring to the order multiple field in the order tab of IC12, I believe that only works for inventory items. If you find it works for nonstock, please share.
We have often added the multiple to the template line qty field as a more obvious reminder. If you leave the qty blank, it defaults to a 1 in RQC.

Not only does that order multiple field only apply to inventory it's only for vendor replenishment. It doesn't have anything to do with ordering via RQC/RQ10.
You could add an additional UOM to IC11. Using your example, if you currently have EA and BX with 100EA/BX, add PK or something making PK=10EA. Then make PK the default transaction UOM in IC11, IC12 and PO15. You would need to communicate to your warehouse staff that this item may be requested in packs of 10. Might even be a good to actually bundle packs of of 10 to make it easier for staff to pick.
