Any way to mass-update the company number of Portal users?
raphael-rocha
Due to an affiliation change we are moving most of our active Lawson 'business' to a new company number, from 1000 to the new 2000. The emps will also be moving to that number. We have about 1700 Portal users and on the second screen ("Manage Identifies") of their setups in the LSA program is a field for the company number. Is there some other way to do this than manually going in and changing each one to 2000? I am familiar with how to do a mass update but it seems to only allow updating the items on the first ("RM Object") screen in the LSA.
Is there a way to not do this manually and also not lose everyone's passwords and other configs in the process?

You could dump the identities using ssoconfig, and use a text editor > Find/Replace 1000 > 2000, and then load it back up thru ssoconfig.

Are you referring to the PDL_EMPLOYEE area on the Manage Identities screen that links the Company and Employee number? That field can't actually be changed. You would have to delete the current value and then add the new value. There may be outside utilities to do this, but I would use Process Automation and read through the list of employees and update the records.

Are you talking about the CompanyControl attribute in the RM information for forms or do you mean HR identities for EMSS?

I'm referring to the 'manage identities' on the second screen of the Portal setup which includes our EMSS users (and others). Actually mcmill seems to have hit the right mark here, as after a couple of tries Infor responded with this list of procedures. I'll post it here in case anyone needs it in future as it sounds like what mcmill said. Thanks everyone!
1. Login to LID and run ssoconfig -c. It will ask for a password and you need to input the password you set for ssoconfig utility.
2. Once you entered the utility, press 5 (Manage Lawson Services)
3. Chooose (6) Export service and identity info.
4. It'll ask you if you want to export all the services. You will choose (2) No since you are only exporting PRODLINE_EMPLOYEE service.
5. Then it ask you to Enter the services name separated by comma to be exported (). You will need to type in the exact name of your PRODLINE_EMPLOYEE (e.g. LSAPPS_EMPLOYEE).
6. Now it will ask again if you want to export the identities ("ALL" or "NONE"). You should type ALL here.
7. You may now type in the filename of the XML file e.g. PROD_EMP.xml.
8. Choose format that Lawson Software should export credential information as. You may need to select (2) Opaque.
9. Then you may choose the option to exit on the last step.
10. Open the xml file using text editor(Notepad++, Notepadd, gEdit etc.).
11.Make sure you change the to .
12. Replace the number to your new company number in the line "<![CDATA[1001]]>" for all users.
13. Save the file once done editting the company value.
14. Load the xml file back by logging in to LID and run ssoconfig -l password filename.xml. Note, filename.xml is the name of the file you editted while password is the password of lawson ID.
